I was discussing with a friend of mine a couple of days ago the possibility to make a robot. He was complaining about the lack of resources with robot parts so i "lend him a hand" through the site.

So I'm looking at starting to build a robot for robot wars.
Thinking of duplicating the bot "Wanda" with some changes, but for all
intents and purposes it's basically a steel tube with a wheel at either end
and a long arm with a weapon on the end sticking off the tube.

Tj, I know you said you had some tube around, any chance you can measure it
up for me? ID & OD are the two things I really want to know.
Other things I am looking for are:
   1. some suitable wheels (ideally about 8"/200m diameter)
   2. motors. ideally with attached inline gearboxes. We have some old
   cordless drills at the space but some higher voltage ones would be nice.
   especially seeing the size of the wheels.
   3. something for a weapon. I was thinking of turning some 50mm steel rod
   on the lathe so it had a point on either end, but am open to suggestions.
