Our PCB mfg. for rigid flex board (contains rigid and flex parts), claim they never used solder mask, only coverlay. Board is mfg. per MIL-P-50884, Type 4, Class A.
Question is, is coverlay an accepatable substitute for solder mask? I've read that solder mask can crack and flake.
Thanks.
