Your projects / Small lcd screen displaying simple engine parameters
« Last post by felix on October 19, 2016, 18:48:47 PM »
Hello George, hello everybody.
I want to monitor four parameters of a two cylinder, two stroke engine, such as rpm, total engine hours, temperature and battery charging voltage on a small lcd screen. I'd like all of them to be displayed at the same time and have a fast refresh rate. What PIC should fit the job? What kind of sensor is recommended for engine temp monitoring?
Any kind of recommendations will be much appreciated.

Your projects / Test Strategies for PCBs
« Last post by matt314hew on October 19, 2016, 02:43:21 AM »
Hello everyone.  I work for a small electronics company and would like to minimize field failures with better test procedures.  we were looking at trying to come up with an application that could be used to record answers to questions that would fit with the PCB.

Has anyone done anything similar to this?  And if so, what were the types of questions you tracked?

To give an example, we would like to know what the reading on the meter was when power was on.  Or also record the number of times the LEDs flashed and that determines the different states.

Any information that others have would be beneficial.

General Discussion / Some URGNET Questions
« Last post by hibiskusi on October 15, 2016, 19:11:59 PM »
hi folks,

Please if you can help me with the following question.

Bipolar line code
The advantage of a bipolar line code is that a bipolar fault (two successive positive or negative pulses, separated by any number of zeros) signals a transmission error to the receiver. Unfortunately, the receiver does not know where this error happened.
The receiver had received the defective sequence. Construct two scenarios (each with a wrongly transmitted signal) that produce the same sequence.

The human hearing range is approximately between 20 Hz and 20 kHz. How big must the sampling frequency of music CDs be at least, so that every piece of music can be reconstructed perfectly?

Conduct an expression for the baud rate D as a function of a bit rate R for 16QAM using Manchester encoding! Use the maximum number of possible signal changes in Manchester.
Monitoring security of multiplexing
Accept an unencrypted radio transmission. Which of the three multiplexing methods (time, frequency and / or code multiplexing) offers the highest monitoring security (0.75P)? Why (0.75P)?

Just to check if light is flashing at the fast rate. Can you please make a video and try to see it in slow motion? In this way you will be 100% sure   if the light is flashing. As admin has mentioned above.
General Discussion / Re: Capacitive Buttons on Playstation 4

It seems it's not a capacitive button problem. Have you tried using different discs? Also, please try to see if there is any dirt or some obstacle near to that button is coming up.
I may also recommend to clean the PS4 reading laser with cleaning disc.
Digital discussion / Re: Protocol? What is protocol?
« Last post by abhipoints on October 13, 2016, 13:59:47 PM »
Communication protocols are formal descriptions of digital message formats and rules. They are required to exchange messages in or between computing systems and are required in telecommunications.

PCB board good or bad in what sense: quality of the PCB board, company wise, interconnects or anything else.
