Are PLCs made of PICs?

I wonder of a PLC is an extension of a PIC. You know what i mean. The 16F88 can be software programmed and it could make a nice PLC.

I have never surge a PLC but i beleive each company has it's own ICs. I would never expect to see a PIC in an industrial PLC. It is just so... amateur.

Of course using PIC anyone could make a PLC.

Imagine which companies manufacture PLCs...

Is not possible to use PICs for core.

They might use them for support equipment but not for core.  :-X

No way. PLCs are made of IC's specially designed for this reason.
