PWM accuracy issues
« on: January 02, 2012, 17:45:59 PM »
Hi
I am looking for a little guidance with the following problem, its a question that i have been asked, on my college course.
I am not looking for all the answers, merely some advise from those in the know.

a DC stepper motor is connected to a PWM supply, the speed control is not as accurate as expected?

My question, what possible problems are there and any idea on solutions?

regards

A stepper motor cannot be controlled with PWM pulses. A stepper motor requires some kind of stepper motor driver. If you connect a stepper to a simple PWM you will actually get no move.
