Flip Flop

I have a question. In general.

how does those Flip Flop work and why are so important? I cannot undertand it. I am reading a book but there are so many different options for them that i will pop.

What exactly do you want to know about flip flop?

In general, they have 2 inputs and 2 outputs. The outputs can change state according the inputs but the main fact is that they can latch the output. They are used in many applications. Actually, in every chip an FF is hidden. Especially for latching data and memory. The uses are thousands.
