It is a good start but they still need to put some effort to make it lighter and cheaper... I would not go for it. Thumbs down.

I do not know about monitor with solar backs, i know gadgets with solar chargers for laptop. And bags with solar covers for chargers.

Just be patient, solar power whether is efficient or not is a trend now, so expect more and more stuff powered by photons.  ;)

But as for this laptop with solar chargers, it would not be a good idea thinking of it again. First of all, who would work on a laptop facing the sun? And seccond, who would leave his valuable brand new laptop under direct sun light that will eventually turn the thin plastic into junk, just to charge it?

Maybe a separate solar charger is more possible but solar chargers already exist.

You may also stick the laptop by chernohbil and make it nuclear powered...
