LHC's "official" start will take place at the 21st of October despite the problem that stopped it untill spring 2009.

The first data from LHC are ready to be analyzed, these are the first of an estimated 15 million Gigabytes  :o of data per year demanding 100.000 processors  :o to manage them. The numbers are giving you a headache.

Investigations at CERN concluded that the cause of the problem was the faulty electrical connection between 2 of the accelerator's magnets. With spare parts on hand and foresight to avoid such problems in the future, LHC's teams are working to put the thing back toghether untill spring 2009.

Despite the known problem that halted LHC it's "official" start will take place tomorrow at CERN with an "invitation only" list of guests and speeches, exhibitions and a buffet.
