Been playing with my timer circuit and noticed that when power is turned off then back on again the chips basically pick back up where they left off. Is there anyway to reset the chips so that they start from the beginning as soon as power is applied and then continue working as they should? Thanks.

You could make a monostable circuit that will send a reset pulse to all chips for let's say 0.5 sec when powering on.
