8x8x8 LED Cube with timelapse make-of video [Project]
posted November 14 2012 7:34.18 by Giorgos Lazaridis

Chris from pyroelectro.com sent me his latest make, this awesome 8x8x8 cube. Basic math tells me that this monster has 512 LEDs soldered in 8 layers one by one! This project is actually the Club Jameco 8x8x8 cube. Chris added the skills, a few more parts and a nice enclosure for the electronics underneath the cube and here is the result:

Chris made also a very good timelapse video with the make-of, and will certainly give some ideas to people who want to put their hands on such a big project:

Good work [Chris]!
