Lava Lamps How They Work? [Physics]

Lava Lamps... I was always fascinated with these kind of lamps.
I recently bought two 3w RGB leds and my intentions is to build a Lava Lamp, were underneath this lamp my RGB led will illuminate it.
Below there is an explainatory video from discovery channel were analyzes how Lava Lamps work.
Time for some ideas...... ;-)
