Chances are that technology will keep increasing rapidly to the point that interstellar journeys (like Jakesully did to meet Neytiri) will be possible. But chances are also that before technology reaches this point, an huge asteroid will meet Earth instead. Chances are again that before this asteroid meets Earth, we earthlings will have the technology to prevent this collision... Watch the following video:
