A POV clock made with all off-the-shelf parts

Chris from pyroelectro informed me for another project upload. Look around you. Do you see some LEDs? A PIC microcontroller? A fan? Then let's make a POV clock! For those who believe that making a propeller clock is hard or expensive, Chris has an alternative solution. He made one with parts that he found around his lab. Chris is a typical PIC fan (COOL!!!), and so this project is based on a PIC microcontroller, more specifically he used the PIC 18F252 with 40 MHz crystal. He used an IR pair to determine a fixed "home" position for the rotation. The "means of rotation" for the clock is a simple 5 Volts desktop fan!
