Navy unleashes 15KW death ray to successfully burn a boat
posted April 10 2011 19:29.53 by Giorgos Lazaridis

Remember those laser weapons from Star Wars? And the death ray from death star? Well, the navy is one step closer after this successful test. The MLD is a 15 KW solid state laser and is mounted aboard a destroyer for the test. It managed to burn the engines of the test boat. It does not really look anything like Darth Vader's ray, but proves that lasers will change future warfare tactics for sure.

    • @BC matsu this is warfare... there are no meanings like "waste of resources" whatsoever.
