PS1 Controller Joysticks with Arduino [Project]
posted January 31 2014 4:01.52 by spic0m

Finnio took out the thumbstick setup from an old PS1 controller and after figuring out the PCB, hooked it up to an Arduino to read values. It could easily be expanded to any number of projects that require a basic controller without the fuss of drivers or special adapters.

"Idea: To take one of my old Playstation 1 controllers and extract the dual thumbstick setup so that it can be easily used in a microcontroller project (in my case: with the Arduino) without extra libraries or drivers that you would need if you want to use the entire controller."
