I am a construction equipment service trainer and our products use PWM to actuate a hydraulic control valve and is controlled by the UCM on board from a command from the joystick
My question is what would the voltage be going to the actual coil of the valve ...5 volts or less? or system voltage which is 12 volts?

there are coils from 5 to 220 volts, AC or DC... It is printed on the coil.
