Manufacturing PCB in the 80's

Hi,

does anyone have knowabout of any links to, or books, preferably ebooks, on how they manufactured circuit boards in the early 80's?
I guess there must be some difference to the automated machinery and probably it was more manual work...

I'm doing some research on the subject, due to a story I'm writing.
