Open source camera
« on: October 20, 2009, 21:37:25 PM »
Open source is gaining ground more and  more and that is a blessing to all of us because it translates to more advanced and cost efficient products.
This time, guys from Stanford university are working at an open source photo camera with components from the shelf. It is a breakthrough since this still experimental camera would let you change its software and even its form and shape! (quoted from Stanford article)

The camera runs Linux, and its metering, focusing, demosaicing, denoising, white balancing, and other post-processing algorithms are programmable.
