PIC Smartcard Phonecard ReaderAuthor

I prepare a hard-lock key for my PC mod which will shutdown all external USB ports whenever i wish. I could have used some sort of key-lock, or a mod of my keycode lock, but instead i decided to use something more fancy - I decided to use a smart-card reader to do the job.


 
 



Thew first step is to get control over smart-cards. After reading some documents that Panagiotis provided me (thanks _Pike), i began experimenting with smartcards and more specifically with Greek telecards, and i wrote a detailed theory regarding phonecard smart-cards. Eventually, i made this first circuit which reads the content of a telecard.


Before i put the card into the slot A closer look to the LCD before reading the card The PIC detects that a card is inserted and reads the contents These are the decimal values that the PIC got out of the card
